Ryan chose the African Gray Parrot as his rainforest report. It's actually cool because I learned so much from it too. He wrote a report that includes a drawing of the parrot (he traced it from a picture) and a narrative of it's habitat, food, care, etc.For the final report, we made a diorama of the parrot in its habitat. We have to show that it lives on the emergent and canopy layer of the rainforest. It was a great collaboration between mom and Ryan. Mom covered the box, drew the parrots (well, traced them too), cut the leaves and the branches. Ryan colored and cut the parrots, drew designs on the brances and leaves, designed and cut the strawberries and glued the clouds (cotton balls) and birds. Both of us put them all together (with some arguing going on on where things should be). All in all, I think we did a great job. What do you think?
